Our Partners

The OneZoo CDT aims to work closely with academic and non-academic partners across government, NGO and commercial sectors. Together, OneZoo academics and industry/organisation partners will co-create and co-design training for the next generation of scientists with the skills and insight necessary to tackle current and future zoonotic threats. See our ever-growing list of partner organisations below:

There are different levels of partner engagement available, from in-kind support (e.g. co-supervision, access to data and facilities, participation in OneZoo activities), to full financial support of a studentship.

The OneZoo CDT is always open to new collaborations. If your organisation wants to get involved, here are a few options:

Become a CASE Partner

The central component of the OneZoo programme is challenging and original research projects focused on one or more of the priority themes. Each OneZoo project brings together supervisors from at least two different OneZoo research institutions, along with the involvement of external industry/organisation partner(s).

If you organisations interests align with with the OneZoo themes, then please get in touch – we would love to have you on board as a ‘CASE partner’; this involves a contribution of a minimum of £1,000 Research Training and Support Grant (RTSG) per annum, and a placement of 3 – 18 months (and travel and subsistence expenses to support the student attending). Contact onezoo@cardiff.ac.uk for more information on how to get involved.

Train the next generation

Industry/organisation partners can be involved in more ways than just developing/supervising the project itself, for example, through delivering bespoke training in cross-cutting skills, developing ‘real world’ challenges for students to work on at cohort-based training events, attending the OneZoo annual conferences, or sharing job opportunities.

Collaborate with us

Whenever possible or relevant, students will be encouraged to take up collaborative opportunities with industry/organisation partners and end-users. If you think you have a suitable placement and would consider hosting one of our students for a few weeks/months, then please get in touch at onezoo@cardiff.ac.uk.
